About ItsWagging
What is ItsWagging?
ItsWagging is a dog-focused information site built to help owners find practical answers to the specific questions they actually search for โ not generic, one-size-fits-all advice. We cover behavior, food and nutrition, toys and gear, and everyday health basics, alongside free tools and calculators built to replace guesswork with real numbers.
Why we created ItsWagging
Dog owners don't search in vague terms โ they search "why is my dog suddenly clingy," "how much should I feed my dog," or "how old is my dog in human years." A lot of pet content online answers these questions in a roundabout, generic way. ItsWagging exists to answer them directly, with real explanations and useful tools where they genuinely add value.
Meet Buddy
Buddy is the personality behind ItsWagging โ the voice you'll hear in guide introductions and the subject of our ongoing storyline. Buddy is a storytelling character, not a research assistant or product tester; our informational content is researched and written by the team behind the site, not "tested" by a dog.
What we cover
Behavior
Why dogs do what they do, and what actually helps.
Food & Nutrition
Safety, portions, and everyday feeding questions.
Toys & Gear
Honest buying guides, not just product lists.
Health
What's normal, what's not, and when to call the vet.
Tools
Free calculators built around real dog-owner questions.
Our tools
Rather than relying only on articles, we're building practical calculators โ currently our Dog Age Calculator (a size-adjusted estimate of your dog's age in human years) and Dog Food Calculator (an estimate of daily calorie and food needs). Both are built on commonly cited veterinary guidance and clearly labeled as estimates, not exact prescriptions โ every tool page explains its methodology and limitations.
How we create content
We aim to directly answer the question a reader actually came with, use reputable sources when a factual claim calls for it, and clearly flag uncertainty rather than present a guess as settled fact. We distinguish general information from veterinary advice, and we update content when something changes or when we identify an error. We don't claim every piece of content is veterinarian-reviewed โ where that matters (health-adjacent topics especially), we write with appropriate caveats and consistently point readers toward their vet for anything specific to their dog.
Product and buying guides
Some of our content discusses specific products, and some of those links are affiliate links (see our Affiliate Disclosure). We research products and compare publicly available information to build our recommendations โ we don't currently claim to have personally tested every product we mention, and we won't say otherwise. Where we do conduct hands-on testing in the future, we'll say so explicitly.
Advertising
ItsWagging may display advertising, including through Google AdSense, to help support the cost of running the site. Advertising does not influence which topics we cover or what we say about them.
Affiliate relationships
ItsWagging is a participant in the Amazon Associates Program. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases. This doesn't cost you anything extra, and it doesn't change our recommendations โ see our full Affiliate Disclosure for details.
Found something that needs correcting?
If you spot a factual error, a broken link, outdated information, or something that's just unclear, we genuinely want to know. Contact us and we'll take a look.
Where we're headed
ItsWagging is evolving beyond a traditional blog โ more tools, broader guides, and eventually a space where dog owners can ask questions and learn from each other directly. That community feature doesn't exist yet, but the site is being built with it in mind.
